Most pests can be eliminated with improvements in sanitation and minimal disruption of normal operations. Bed bugs are not an indicator of poor sanitation and their presence in a building must be viewed as a serious matter. Solving this problem involves active cooperation on the part of property management; hard, persistent work on the part of your Copesan IPM Service Specialist; and a significant amount of time.
Working closely with the IPM Service Specialist will enable Copesan to eliminate bed bugs with as little disruption to normal operations as possible.

Bed bugs multiply rapidly, spread easily and are difficult to detect. Discovering them quickly limits exposure to guests, visitors and staff. It also minimizes the costs associated with operational disruption and the intensive treatments necessary to solve a bed bug infestation.
Copesan's Proactive Bed Bug Inspection Service ensures that an experienced, well-trained IPM Service Specialist carefully investigates each room for signs of bed bug activity. Rooms are typically inspected twice per year on a rotating basis.
When bed bugs are discovered, it is critical to take the room out of service immediately and contact Copesan. Your Service Specialist will perform a careful inspection of all places in the room where bed bugs could hide.
Any rooms adjacent to the affected room (above, below, and next to it) must also be inspected, and may need to be treated.
The second step is to remove as many bugs as possible by vacuuming. Next, steam cleaning is an effective means of killing the bugs. Finally, your IPM Service Specialist will carefully treat the cracks, crevices, and voids where bed bugs hide with a residual insecticide. Follow-up visits are needed to ensure that all of the bugs have been eliminated. Your Service Specialist will verify that there are no more bed bugs living in the room. Be prepared. Bed bugs require multiple treatments.
